Plumbing Services in Tanjong Pagar
Tanjong Pagar in Malay indicates “cape of stakes”, a name which reflects its origins as an angling village located on a previous promontory. It has been speculated that the name was influenced by the existence of kelongs (offshore palisade angling catches built using wood risks as well as cross items) established along the stretch of shore from the village of Tanjong Malang to just what is now Tanjong Pagar. It is perhaps a corruption of the earlier name Tanjong Passar, a road which led from South Bridge Roadway to the angling village and also which showed up in George Drumgoole Coleman’s 1836 Map of the Town.
